Finance reports

What came in, from what, what is still owed, and why last month does not move.

In the panelFinanceReports

Reports summarise over a period you choose: what was invoiced, what was collected, what remains outstanding, and which services produced it.

Why last month does not move

Everything is expressed in your default currency, converted at the rate recorded on each transaction rather than today's rate. Reopening a closed month does not change what it says.

Note

A system that revalues history at the current rate is easier to build and much harder to trust. If March said one number in April, it says the same number in December.

What to actually look at

  • Collected against invoiced — the gap is your outstanding balance, and its direction over three months matters more than its size in one.
  • Revenue by service — usually one or two services carry a clinic. Knowing which changes what you staff for.
  • Outstanding by patient — a short list of conversations to have, not a number to worry about.
Tip

Read this next to doctor utilisation. Revenue tells you what you earned; utilisation tells you what it cost in chair time, and the two together tell you which service is actually worth its slot.

Exports

Exporting is a separate permission from viewing, and every export is written to the audit log. Someone who can read the numbers cannot necessarily take a spreadsheet of them home.

Common questions

Can I export for my accountant?
Yes, with the export permission. Give it deliberately rather than by default.
Do reports include cancelled appointments?
They report money, not calendar events. For appointment outcomes see overview metrics.
